Domenica Collection
This project lovingly called “In The Studio At Lauren’s House,” which was an experiment of contrasting elements.
Could we use contrast of color to cast the mood of each piece in the collection.
Ideas converged and shaped as Lauren, Emily and I came together in one space to create this beautiful content.
About.
We had many ideas on how to capture the pieces of this collection.
I looked over the selections and saw a pattern in color and feeling of each piece. Lauren quickly saw the same and started looking for props and key pieces that could further the story.
Emily jumped in with style and modeling direction and this session was born.
Creative Direction
The goal was to use a light background and a dark background to express the moods of each piece. We drew from classic photography portrait styles and used Rembrandt lighting to achieve a more “dramatic” feel with each piece.
The wardrobe style was kept simple but modern. The focus was the jewelry and how each piece added to the overall feel.
The Challenge
We photographed on the patio with quickly changing light conditions. I also was photographing my friend and creative super star, Emily Lyons-Wood. For all of you who have ever photographed someone you look up to, it can prove intimidating to push through and direct with confidence.
