Heritage Pieces

What ties us to the jewelry we treasure? Is is because it is made of gold, or is that perfect diamond?

Heritage pieces explores the stories behind the jewelry.

The content for “Heritage Pieces” was an idea born from connection. Connection to people and the things we choose to wear and hold on to.

About

To present modern jewelry as a “Heritage Pieces” that will be shared through families, generations, and friends.

This project was born from observation. I started noticing that most of Lauren from Palm Sunday’s content focused around “engagement or wedding pieces,” even though the jewelry lent itself to everyday wear.

I asked my friend Hannah Stone, her sister, mom and daughter to all participate in this photography and video content.

Creative Direction

We drew from classic photography portrait styles and used Rembrandt lighting to achieve a more “dramatic” feel with each image. We focused on relating each sibling and mom and grandmother in a way that showed generations. Pieces from Palm Sunday was inserted for each scene.

The wardrobe style was kept simple with a focus on natural linens and whites. We sought to create a clean and classic feel.

The simplicity focuses attention to the interaction of the subjects and the items they wear.

The Challenge

The the challenge was to show customers that Palm Sunday was not just for special occasions.

After much brainstorming, I thought to help customers understand her pieces as “investments” or “heritage pieces.”
