PALM SUNDAY
THE RINGLING
When Lauren approached me for her new collection, Domenica, I was inspired by the initial concepts of the pieces she was designing and even more so by her drawings and art direction she took from old paintings and Spanish Coastal architecture.
From Lauren, founder of Palm Sunday; “I often find myself looking to architecture for inspiration when designing rings and I think it’s because some of the heaviest of materials can be made to look weightless, floating even, when designed right.”
About
The content direction on this came from the idea of showcasing how Lauren gets inspiration and where she finds ideas for her designs. We wanted the customers and clients of Palm Sunday to feel invited into Lauren’s process of designing each piece. This in turn creates a moment of transparency and connects her clients to each piece in a real way.
Creative Direction
For this specific section of content, I knew that we needed to be in a space that inspired Lauren and many of her pieces which is why we chose an imaginative and architectural masterpiece at “The Ringly,” in Sarrasota, FL.
For wardrobe we called in fellow creative director, photographer and entrepreneur, Emily Lyons-Wood for styling and curation. I knew that we needed to keep the style classic, vintage and a European - Mediterranean Vibe. Surprisingly we embraced 90’s Meg Ryan.
The simplicity of the wardrobe lended itself to the modern and bold designs of this jewelry collection.
For photography, I chose a vintage cinematic lens, Voigtlander M Mount 40mm to create give us the compression we needed but also create interesting perspectives and light wrap.
